I know that some of you clued up beauty clever clogs are already practising what I’m about to preach, but I have had my Eyelash Care epiphany and I’m quite evangelical about it. Having gone straight to the top with my research, friends, daughters and myself. It appears that Chanel’s Beaute De Cils has been nourishing the initiated’s eyelashes since 2011, and as no one told me and as I was too busy with the school run to even put on socks most mornings during that period, my eyelashes and the care thereof featured on no one’s horizons. But now that I have entered my in your, and on my, face period, I am sorting out my top ‘new to me’ ( and possibly to you too) products in both style and beauty hemispheres.
Buckham Fair Round Up
Martin and my Baby #1 judging ‘Best Trick’
We have survived the deluge thanks to all our amazing supporters. Surely the last time people had so much fun, walking through so much mud was at Glastonbury, until that is, Buckham Fair embellished the experience by adding so many, dogs and ponies into the mix.
Buckham Fair Pony and Dog Show.
Buckham Fair is very close to my heart and I’ve been a member of the committee from it’s inception. We are 3 days away from our 7th Annual Fair, and over these 7 years, we have raised £250,000 for local charities. This year’s event will take place this Sunday 23rd of August. We open our gates (five barred ones) at 9 am. I expect you all to be standing there. With deference to my ethos which runs somewhere along the lines of, if you’re doing something anyway choose an outfit that sets you off well whilst you’re doing it and given that Buckham Fair incorporates Ponies, I’d just like to give you all the heads up that it’s not just horses that are being judged in the ‘Best Turned Out’ class…
Tribute Brand
I wasn’t going to post today but I got to flicking through the new Boden catalogue, and while I totally loved it for my 3 daughters between the ages of 0 to 12, I haven’t really invested in this brand since. So I was really amused by these pretty stylish little ‘I will make your outfit funky AND warm’ cashmere sweaters.
London Routemistress
Got nothing but apologies for not posting much at the moment. I have been route marching around London with a changing herd of children, some mine, some borrowed. We have been to Pleasure and Pain, at V&A which was fascinating. Go, Go (boots),
if you can. If only to see the teeny tiny shoes that the aristocratic Chinese ladies had their feet bound in order to fit into. Thank god for women like Gladys Aylward.
Me and a Tunic
This Forever 21 Tunic is a very versatile item. I saw someone trying this on, spotted it looking amazing on her, realised that we couldn’t have been more different physically but took a punt and bought it anyway. So on my first outing wearing it I wasn’t particularly owning my look but by the end of my evening had been so very complimented on it that I couldn’t wait to wear it again. Here’s what happened next…
An Holistic Friendship
Vincent LaRouche, Creative Director at LAFCO
Vincent is someone that I met in Paris more than 25 years ago. I was modelling and he was designing Haute Couture Gowns. Our friendship has endured through mutual admiration .Vincent deserves my undying admiration, I just cross my fingers and hope that he never notices the chinks in my armour that my 3 naughty girls have made. We share a fussy, fascination with aesthetics and a frank and honest visceral sense of humour that neither of us are afraid to vocalise. Truly, I would follow Vincent to the ends of the earth if he said there was a particularly interesting shop there or designer sale…
