Truly this blog’s message is that suits aren’t  just pinstripe trousers and a briefcase. Skirt suits ‘a la’Max Mara, dress suits as predicted by Sid Neigum, or a T Shirt and skirt as shown by Edeline Lee, are all legal tender on next season’s shop floor. Mrs V  translates the word ‘Suit’ by suggesting that a suit can be anything at all comprising of an outfit of more than one matching piece ie. design and/or material but not limited to Mad Men tailored office wear concepts. How exciting is that? Every designer has sent out some form of suit for next season

Classic suits are always a fantastic investment. Buy the best you can as cut and cloth will endure as a style investment. Try on some at different price points, one will prevail.
Mrs V’s experience as a model can attest that a seriously good suit can make you feel bloody amazing (Walking The Catwalk). Gucci have gone for double breasted. More sophisticated and can need a little more determined searching because single breasted are more prevalent locally.Steven Tai goes nerdy, but very happy to be softly accessorised. Saint Laurent…If we could we should. Emblematic of a utterly fail proof  style stance. A Saint Laurent Tuxedo suit, pinch me. Shake all the above down by teaming with t shirts, silk shirts, bustiers and if the hidden hussy feels like an outing you can go down this road with an H&M black lace body suit.  You don’t have to unbutton the jacket! No-one really notices if I do.

I really love the frivolity that Maison Margiela has applied to a serious piece of kit.  Deola Charles for her own label Ille de Cocos literally weaves her magic in cashmere. Truly, Athleisure in cashmere, no sweat involved. Whereas Burberry suggest that sumptuous silky pyjamas (forevermore referred to as a silk lounge suit) under a burly overcoat is where it’s at. I’m inclined to agree and if there was a sartorial grandfather even vaguely related to me I would have raided his closet for both of those items long ago.

Suits are going to be us and we can literally suit ourselves.
