Here is Maril another Swedish Top Model, a very special person in my modelling career and hugely valued friend. Maril was the very first model that I ever worked with. Our agent Laraine Ashton IMG ( now known solely as IMG), had told me that another of their girls would be at the same job and would take care of me. Hah, 103 years later, Maril is still on speed dial on my phone.
Truly, when I walked through the door I saw the most beautiful person in the world. Maril was swathed in sunlight, back lit as it happens, working the light even then. The effect was dynamite. A model, a superstar, a Swedish modelling superstar. I Wasn’t even close to being worthy.
These are Maril’s photographs ( Maril Kemp Photography), which are now translated into cards and prints, several of which fluffy up my day, especially the one outside my laundry room as I stagger past with dirty sheets, odd socks and a grumbly attitude. Honestly, what are the odds, beauty, brains and talent. I really need to stop surrounding myself with these girls, I’m looking quite a loser in comparison.

Maril and I at Mick Lindberg’s ‘Stitched Stories’ exhibition. Of course Maril is bezzies with Mick. There must be a collective noun for this strata of human being. I’m suggesting ‘A Delight’ of friends.
